Equestrian Property Inspection FAQs
Does an equestrian property inspection include my home?
Yes! If there is a home onsite, that will be included as part of your inspection. Additional fees may be included for ‘extra’ residences on the property, such as grooms quarters or above-barn apartments.
What types of buildings and facilities do you inspect?
We know equestrian properties can often include a wide range of additional structures and amenities. An equestrian property inspection includes the barn and stalls, any sheds, fencing, outbuildings for tractors, hay storage, and arenas; including indoors.
Can horses be on the property during the inspection?
We recommend turning horses out during a barn inspection and having someone onsite who is comfortable moving horses as necessary. We will not go into stalls with horses unless the owner is present.
Does an inspection include checking for fire hazards?
Given the nature of equestrian properties, a fire can have fast and totally devastating consequences. As such, we check closely for the presence of both natural and manmade fire hazards, like unsafe hay storage or missing lightning rods.
Is electrical wiring included as part of the inspection?
Yes! We understand the importance of safe and reliable electrical wiring, so we take the time to check for exposed wires, non-GFCI protected outlets, or overloaded or outdated systems.
Do you do inspections for other livestock properties?
Yes; though we do specialize in equine property inspections, we are also available for other farms and livestock facilities. As with equestrian properties, any farm inspection includes the home as well. Please enquire about rates and availability for this service.
