Maryland, DC, and Northern Virginia Home Inspection Services
Residential Home Inspection
For single family homes, condominiums, townhouses and multi-unit properties. This detailed pre=purchase inspection looks into the home to reveal any shortcomings as well highlighting the positive amenities of the home(s). Upon the completion of the inspection a detailed report is prepared for your review, which includes a summary page itemizing our findings and suggested repairs, as well as a photo summary page illustrating these items. This report is then delivered to you electronically within 24 hours or sooner upon request. Pre-listing and ‘information only’ inspections also available.
Equestrian Property Inspection
If you are considering purchasing an equestrian property, you want to inspect all of the related amenities: barns, fences, arenas, and outbuildings. An equestrian property inspection includes all the same aspects of a residential property inspection, with the addition of a close look at any equine facilities on the property. This will give you peace of mind no only that your horses are safe, but also that the property you are buying is sound. An additional fee may be levied for commercial equestrian properties or those covering over a certain acreage or square footage.
Radon Testing
Checking for radon is an essential part of any home inspection. But what exactly is radon? Radon is a gas derived via breakdown in uranium in certain types of rock found under the ground; through a process known as ‘radioactive decay’. As it breaks down it rises to the surface of the earth and can enter your home. It is inert, colorless, and odorless; but it can cause lung cancer. Thankfully, the test and remediation for too-high levels of radon are accessible and easily executed.
Indoor Air Quality / Mold Testing
Mold in homes can be a serious issue if not identified and addressed - not only for your health, but also for the health of your home. Air quality testing helps us to determine not only what types of mold may be present in a home, but also how much mold is there. To do so, we take air samples from within the home, as well as an exterior sample to determine a baseline. Mold is almost always present in the home in some form, but the real question is if there’s enough in the air to cause problems for your family or residence.
Pre-Drywall Inspection
Building your dream home from the ground up? Don’t skip the pre-drywall inspection. This type of inspection can help ensure that your home is built safely and up to the specifications you had in mind. As the name suggest, it is performed prior to hanging dry-wall so that your inspection can find any issues related to the foundation, framing, pipe placement and more. Put simply: with a pre-drywall inspection, you can catch anything that will be difficult (or impossible) to amend once the home is complete.
Pre-Listing Inspection
No matter the housing market, a pre-listing inspection can save you time, money, and stress in your home selling process. It allows you to make any necessary repairs - rather than having to make concessions at closing. A pre-listing inspection can also give prospective buyers peace of mind that the home has been well cared for. It also can help your home be priced more accurately, thanks to a deep dive into the overall condition of the home and its components.
Termite Inspection (WDI)
If you’ve got wood in your home, you’re going to want to get a termite inspection (WDI). This important part of any home inspection checks for termites, carpenter, ants, powder post beetles, carpenter bees and other wood destroying insects (WDI). These not-so-friendly critters are widely recognized for their ability to serious damage to your home; and subsequently your bank account. Avoid the trouble - or catch an existing WDI problem early - with a termite inspection.
Septic Inspection
A septic system enables your home to treat and dispose of unwanted wastewater and solids. It does so by breaking down solids and allowing the water (effluent) to exit the tank into a drain field where it can be reabsorbed into the ground. If you are considering purchasing a home with a septic system, an inspection for it is definitely not something you’ll want to skip. Save yourself hours of costly (and highly inconvenient) repairs with a septic system; trust us, if something comes up. you’ll be glad you did.
